Chief Executive Officer | Truth, Justice and Healing Council
Francis Sullivan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council, established in 2013 to coordinate the Church’s engagement with the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Prior to this Francis has worked in government and private practice and has held positions as Secretary-General of the Australian Medical Association, Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Health Australia and Senior Advisor to the Minister for Health in Western Australia.
Francis is committed to equity and justice and has been highly successful in bringing a social conscience to the political debate on health and aged care issues.
He has served as a consultant to the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers at the Vatican and is an Adjunct Professor at the Australian Catholic University in recognition of his work in public policy advocacy.
Francis has a masters degree in theology from Loyola University in Chicago and a bachelors degree in politics from Curtin University in Western Australia. Early in 2008, the Australian Catholic University awarded him an honorary Doctorate for his work in public health advocacy.
