Deputy Secretary, Regulation; Director, Consumer Affairs | Victorian Department of Justice & Regulation
Prior to his commencement as Deputy Secretary, Regulation and Director, Consumer Affairs at the Department of Justice and Regulation in Victoria, Simon Cohen was the national Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman from 2010 to 2015. Simon has worked in senior dispute resolution and regulation roles for more than a decade, and has over 20 years’ experience in complaints investigation and dispute resolution.
Simon’s previous roles include: Victorian Public Transport Ombudsman, Assistant Ombudsman (Police) and lawyer at the NSW Ombudsman, Conference Registrar at the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and Investigation Team Manager and lawyer at the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.
Simon has a First Class Honours degree in Law from the University of Queensland.
